I’m pretty sure there are wind gods for each of the four winds and then a bigger wind god for just all the winds so, you weren’t wrong.

My recommendation for the next saga is: Puppeteer by gigi, Wouldn't You Like by Ximena Natzel, and Done For and There Are Other Ways by AnniFlamma If you want to seek out another animatic for Luck Runs Out that has the official soundtrack, I'd recommend Jen or Crashite

I prefer AnniFlamma's animatic of Ruthlessness. Poseidon really looks and feels like the ocean personified!

In the original telling of the Odyssey, it was Athena who destroyed the ships and sent the storm. The Greeks had desecrated her temple when they finally got into Troy. She kept Odysseus and his crew alive because he's her champion but he hadn't sacked her temple. Poseidon only wanted to kill him and him alone. In this, there's the idea he's singing about, which is probably the reason, but (in my headcannon) Poseidon is also petty. The Greeks won against the Trojans, the people Poseidon was backing in the fight, so this was him basically taking that out on them.

“Poseidon your a dick” Yeah but he was rightfully so this time

Poseidon is the most protective of his children but the gods who have monster children are use to their kids being slain by a hero but Odysseus sparing Polyphemus after blinding him (which is Greek it’s worse to blind someone they kill them especially with the time period they were in where medical help wasn’t as advanced) so to Poseidon he felt like Odysseus was saying that Polyphemus wasn’t even worth the kill which made Poseidon feel like he was insulting him as well Plus Odysseus can kill a helpless human baby but not a cyclops who was trying to kill them?

What makes the bag opening even worse is they were so close to home if they had just waited they would have been home but instead they got impatient and now they got the soldiers who didn’t open the bag killed And Odysseus mom saw them get blown away so for all she knows her son is dead now she’s heartbroken

Long rant incoming: Odysseus not apologizing is a common theme in the cyclops and ocean saga. Instead of just apologizing to the Polyphemus and being heartfelt, he just gave excuses for his actions. “We didn’t mean to steal” ok but you did it anyway. Just because you didn’t MEAN to doesn’t mean you didn’t do it. Instead of seeing the emotions behind why the cyclops may be hurting, he just immediately goes to damage control. It’s important to note that the cyclops is basically a runt. The other cyclops in the cave don’t care about him, that’s why when he said Nobody hurt him they didn’t even try to check up on him. They just told him to shut up even tho he was in clear pain. His sheep is the only creatures that he had, they were friends to him not just animals. And the person who gifted him those sheep? His father, Poseidon. So from Poseidon’s point of view? His son’s house was invaded, his sheep (which he knows meant a lot to Polyphemus and a personal gift) killed by strangers, no apology instead a consolation gift, and then on top of that he was blinded. And the person who blinded (idiotically) told him his name and address. And once again, he doesn’t do an actual apology. Now granted, I don’t believe it would have changed anything. Like you pointed out, his whole song was about being ruthless. The likelihood of him showing mercy was not high. I think Poseidon wanted to test to see if he learnt the lesson Poseidon was trying to teach him. But even during said test he didn’t even fail right 🤷 Anyway, that’s my long rant over ❤

Aeolus was the highest god of winds. He was called the keeper of winds. And yes, there are a lot of repetitive gods in greek mythology.

4:59 there’s a funny thing about the island in the sky bit Jorge addressed on his social medias. When he was reading the odyssey he came across the term ‘floating island’ around the time Aeolus was going to come in, and he interpreted it as an island floating in the air rather than the actual phenomenon of an “island” floating around on the ocean randomly because it has no anchor to the sea floor.

Poseidon doesn’t actually give a damn about the cyclops as a person “I mean you totally could have avoided all this had you just killed my son. But no. You are far too nice” He cared about the fact that Odysseus had essentially insulted him by basically mocking the cyclops by telling him his name expecting no retaliation. It’s more of a “you damaged my stuff” than a “you killed my beloved child”

Funnily enough Eurylocus is Odysseus’s brother-in-law. He is married to Odysseus’s sister. (The guy singing in “keep your friends close.) ALSO!!!! Before listening to the next saga go listen to the Habenera from the Opera “Carmen”. (Emphasis on the music but the theme of the song is important too.)

When Posiedan says "I am your darkest moment", he is quoting Odyseuss in Remember them. Odyseuss said it to the cyclops in the end of the song. Aalso the second in command is Euryloches who, in the original texts, is technically the brother in law to Odyseuss. I'm so glad you're doing these animatic reactions. The story and bosses gets cooler as we go!

The second one didn’t use the official audio. I’d recommend listening to the official song. Also, you looked up the four wind gods and was confused by Aeolus. In Greek mythology, there is one main wind god, and then gods for each direction of the wind.

A lot of people believe the reason Poseidon still attacked Odysseus' crew is because he didn't give a proper apology. But I hold the firm belief that it is because Poseidon just sang an ENTIRE song about how you don't get anything from being kind and sparing your enemies. Then he goes and says, "If you apologize and are kind, I'll let you and your men go." But he means it as a test to see if Odysseus understood the whole message of his song. So when Odysseus accepts this option, believing Poseidon may be kind and admitting that they didn't want to hurt Polyphemus, he's disregarding everything Poseidon just said. And that is the meaning behind the line, "The line between naivety and hopefulness is almost invisible." Because Odysseus' HOPEFULNESS that Poseidon will let him go if he apologizes is NAIVE and stupid, because being RUTHLESS is the only way to benefit yourself in the long run, not kindness. And also, this shows Odysseus to have just blatantly ignored a god's advice, which also pissed off Poseidon.

I'm glad you took our advice about doing the whole saga in one video. also most of Gigi's animatics have subtitles so it's OK to turn them on lol

Quick things: 1. Part of the issue with "Two songs per video" was that it took long between reactions. Most people do want to see you get through it rather quickly, because they want to see your reactions to the whole thing. Doing a full saga at a time does work though. 2. "Shoot for the sky" is almost definitely a reference done to Hamilton, which was caught by the animator, who then included the pose. 3. If you plan to relisten to the songs between videos, I would suggest watching (though not necessarily recording a reaction) to alternative animatics. I understand it's hard to know which animatics are the right ones on a first watch, but on a rewatch you can get a lot out of watching the alternative animatics, seeing as different animatic makers focus on different things. 4. The Sixth Saga has a chance to release before you would get to it, dependant on your upload schedule (July 4th). When you get to your reactions of the Fifth Saga, I would recommend you ask your audience what they want to see from your reactions to the saga, because it will not have animatics out right away.

I absolutely love that Poseidon is just throwing Odysseus around, not even using his trident. Shows how powerful he is even when he doesn't use it.

I'd really suggest checking out Crashite's version of Luck Runs Out. The version of the song in this animatic isn't the actual released song, but more like an early version of it. I also suggest looking into AnniFlamma's animatic for Ruthlessness. It's my favorite for that song. Also for the Winions (the little clown guys with Aeolus) they say "never really know who you can trust" the first time, then "sometimes killing is a must" the second. And for the bit about Polites, they mean Odysseus has been badly affected by his death. Also another thing to add, even if Odysseus *had* actually apologized for what happened to Polyphemus, Posiedon's line of "the line between naivety and hopefulness is all but invisible" means he wasn't going to spare Odysseus and his men either way. It would have gone against his whole message about not showing mercy. Odysseus was being naive in thinking Posiedon would let them go after that. And I don't think you noticed Posiedon throwing what Odysseus said to Polyphemus back in his face: "I am your darkest moment", and the "Remember me" was also what Odysseus told Polyphemus.
